1. 앞에 오는 말에 대하여 말하는 사람의 강한 추측을 나타내면서 그와 관련되는 내용을 이어 말할 때 쓰는 표현.

1. -EUL TENDE: An expression used to indicate the speaker's strong guess about the preceding statement and add other relevant content.

🗣️ Usage Example:
  • 할 일이 많을 텐데 벌써 퇴근하려고?
    There's got to be a lot of work to do. you're already leaving.
  • 먼 길 오시느라 힘드셨을 텐데 여기 좀 앉아서 쉬세요.
    You must have had a hard time coming all the way here, so sit down and relax.
  • 나는 야근을 해서 늦을 텐데 너희들끼리 먼저 저녁을 먹는 게 어때?
    I'll be late because i work overtime, so why don't you guys have dinner first?
  • 이번 성적을 부모님께 보여 드리면 야단맞을 텐데 어떻게 하지?
    I'll be scolded if i show my parents my grades. what should i do?
    야단을 맞더라도 빨리 보여 드리는 게 나아.
    Even if you get scolded, you'd better show it to them quickly.
  • 감기에 걸려서 학교에도 못 갔다며? 병원에 가서 주사는 맞았어?
    I heard you couldn't go to school because you caught a cold? did you get your shot at the hospital?
    괜찮아. 그냥 좀 쉬면 나을 텐데 뭐하러 주사까지 맞아.
    It's okay. i'll get better if i just rest a bit, so why would i even get a shot?
