Ending of a Word

1. 앞의 말이 나타내는 내용에 기대되는 다른 사건이 발생하지 않았거나 반대되는 사실이 이어짐을 나타내는 연결 어미.

1. -MEDO: A connective ending used to indicate that an event anticipated by the preceding statement did not happen or the opposite happened.

🗣️ Usage Example:

주말임에도 불구하고 백화점에는 사람이 별로 없었다.
There weren't many people in the department store even though it was the weekend.
승규는 양치질을 꼼꼼하게 함에도 불구하고 충치가 생겼다.
Seung-gyu has a cavity despite his meticulous brushing.

My son is always whining, "i'm hungry," even though it's not time to eat.
