1. 음절 끝에 있는 자음이 그 뒤에 오는 자음과 만날 때, 어느 한쪽이 다른 쪽과 비슷하거나 같은 소리로 바뀌기도 하고, 양쪽이 서로 닮아서 두 소리가 모두 바뀌기도 하는 현상.
