1. 손가락이나 물건을 어떤 방향이나 대상으로 향하게 하여 다른 사람에게 그것을 알게 하다.

1. 指，指着，指出: 把手指或东西朝着某个方向或对象，以让别人知道。

    To point out an explanation.
  • 뱡향을 가리키다.
    Point to 뱡향을향을.
  • 눈으로 가리키다.

  • 아이는 땅에 떨어뜨린 아이스크림을 가리키며 울었다.
    The child cried, pointing to the ice cream he dropped on the ground.
  • 범인이 찾는 형사의 질문에 민준은 말없이 손으로 뒷문을 가리켰다.
    Asked by the detective the criminal was looking for, min-jun pointed at the back door with his hands without saying a word.
  • 안내원은 화장실을 찾는 손님에게 귀찮다는 듯 턱으로 화장실 쪽을 가리킬 뿐이었다.
    The guide just pointed his chin toward the toilet as if he was annoyed by the customer looking for it.

2. 시계나 온도계의 바늘이 시각이나 온도 등을 알려 주다.

    When the scale of the scale pointed to five hundred grams, the owner of the rice-house stopped his hand holding the rice.
  • 아이의 체온을 재던 엄마는 온도계의 눈금이 삼십팔 도를 가리키는 것을 보고 깜짝 놀랐다.
    The mother, who was taking the child's temperature, was surprised to see the thermometer reading 38 degrees.

    The word 'jjang,' which refers to the best among students, has become popular.
  • ♔ 처녀작이 무슨 뜻이에요?
    What does a virgin mean?
    ♕ 작가가 처음으로 발표한 작품을 가리키는 말이야.
    It's referring to the author's first published work.

4. 어떤 대상을 특별히 지적해 말하다.

4. 特指，指称，把……叫做: 特别指着某个对象说。

🗣️ 配例:
  • 동네 사람들은 대학도 졸업하기 전에 고시에 합격한 언니를 가리켜 천재라고 했다.
    The villagers called her a genius, referring to her sister who passed the state examination before graduating from college.
  • 현실과 떨어진 채로 학문을 연구한다는 점에서 대학을 가리켜 상아탑이라고도 한다.
    Also referred to as the ivory tower in the sense that they study learning away from reality.
  • ♔ 나 또 약속 까먹었어.
    I forgot my appointment again.
    ♕ 너 같은 사람을 가리켜 형광등이라고 하는 거야.
    It's called fluorescent light for someone like you.
