Ending of a Word

1. (예사 높임으로) 말하는 사람이 이미 알고 있는 것을 객관화하여 듣는 사람에게 전달함을 나타내는 종결 어미.

1. -NDAO: (formal, moderately addressee-raising) A sentence-final ending used when the speaker says something that he/she already knows in an objective manner and conveys it to the listener.

🗣️ Usage Example:

내가 유명한 의사 선생님을 잘 안다오.
I know a famous doctor.
다른 사람들은 모두 바쁘니 내가 간다오.
Everyone else is busy, so i'm coming.
두 살배기 우리 딸은 새벽마다 깨서 운다오.
Our two-year-old daughter wakes up at dawn and cries.
집사람이 그림을 좋아해서 우리 내외는 매주 미술관에 간다오.
My wife and i go to the art museum every week because she likes painting.
우리는 명절 기차표를 구하려고 아침부터 창구에서 기다린다오.
We wait at the counter in the morning for holiday train tickets.
