1. (높임말로) 높은 분이나 어른이 어느 곳에 살다.

1. RESIDIR: (TRATAMIENTO HONORÍFICO) Vivir en un lugar un superior o mayor.

    Parents in the country.
  • 고국에 계시다.
    In one's home country.
  • 미국에 계시다.
    He's in america.
  • 한국에 계시다.
    Stay in korea.
  • 건강하게 잘 계시다.
    Stay healthy.
  • 나는 고향에 계신 할머니께 전화를 드렸다.
    I called my grandmother back home.
  • 부모님은 미국에 계시지만 나를 보기 위해 일 년에 한두 번씩 한국에 오신다.
    My parents come to korea once or twice a year to see me, although they are in america.
  • ♔ 한국에는 얼마나 계셨습니까?
    How long have you been in korea?
    ♕ 벌써 한국에서 산 지도 삼 년이 되었네요.
    It's already been three years since i lived in korea.

    The teacher is in the classroom after class.
  • 부모님은 직장에 계시고 나는 학교에 있기 때문에 집에는 아무도 없다.
    No one at home because my parents are at work and i'm at school.
  • ♔ 사장님과 통화를 하고 싶은데 지금 자리에 계십니까?
    I'd like to speak to the boss, is he here now?
    ♕ 죄송하지만 조금 전에 외출하셔서 자리에 안 계십니다.
    I'm sorry, but he's out a while ago.

3. (높임말로) 높은 분이나 어른이 어느 위치나 직위에 있다.

3. ENCONTRARSE: (TRATAMIENTO HONORÍFICO) Estar el superior o mayor en un puesto o cargo.

  • 대기업 회장으로 계시다.
    He's president of a large corporation.

    A friend's mother is now the principal of an elementary school.
  • 작은아버지는 국문과 교수로 계시다가 정년을 맞으셨다.
    My uncle was a professor of korean literature and came to his retirement age.

    I'm joining 00 this time.
