1. 팽팽한 가죽이나 종이 등이 닳아서 구멍이 나다.

1. BE WORN OUT: For tight leather, paper, etc., to be worn and have a hole in it.

    The trousers are worn out.
  • 셔츠가 미어지다.
    Shirts are mowed.
  • 손수건이 미어지다.
    A handkerchief is mowed.

    The fabric is mowed.
  • 십 년을 넘게 쓴 손수건은 당장이라도 미어질 듯했다.

3. PAINFUL; HEART-BROKEN; BE TORN: (figurative) To feel a deep sorrow or pain which seems to tear one's heart.

  • 가슴이 미어지다.
    Heartbroken.
  • 마음이 미어지다.
    Hearts are tender.
  • 연인과의 이별로 지수는 마음이 미어졌다.
    Separation from lovers made jisoo feel better.
  • 자식을 잃은 부모는 미어지는 가슴을 붙잡고 목 놓아 울었다.
    The parents who lost their children grabbed mi-ji's chest and let go of her throat and cried.
  • ♔ 민준이는 키우던 개가 죽고 나서는 개를 안 기른다더라.
    Minjun says he doesn't raise a dog after his dog dies.
    ♕ 응, 개를 보기만 해도 기르던 개가 생각나서 가슴이 미어져서 못 기르겠대.
