1. 서로 차이가 있는 것을 비교하면서 앞의 말에 비해서는 뒤의 말이 더 알맞음을 나타내는 표현.

  • 저 사람들이 틀렸다고 하기보다는 그냥 우리랑 다른 것이라고 생각해 봐.
    Instead of saying they're wrong, just think of it as something different from us.
  • 첫 출근을 앞두고 나는 설레기보다는 두려운 마음이 컸다.
    Ahead of my first day at work, i was more afraid than excited.
  • 내가 주기보다는 동생한테 거의 뺏긴 거지.
    She's almost taken away by her brother, rather than by me.
  • 오늘 수학 시험은 어려웠니?
    Was today's math test difficult?
    어렵기보다는 푸는 데 시간이 걸리는 문제가 많았어요.
    There were a lot of problems that took time to solve rather than be difficult.

📚 Annotation: '이다', 동사와 형용사 또는 '-으시-', '-었-', '-겠-' 뒤에 붙여 쓴다.
