1. 사람이나 짐승을 자기 마음대로 시켜서 일을 하게 하다.

  • 민박집 주인은 뱃사람이 아니지만 직접 배를 부려서 고기를 잡아 왔다.
    The owner of the lodging house is not a sailor, but he has been rowing his own boat and catching fish.

    The president of this company is a good mechanic.

3. 귀신이나 요괴 등을 불러 자기 마음대로 움직이게 하다.

    Ghost.

  • 요괴를 부리다.
    Play the devil.
  • 귀신을 부리는 사람은 귀신의 힘을 빌려서 앞날을 내다볼 수 있다고 한다.
